1. Screening of disease resistant Sugarcane varieties for the cultivation of farmers’ field.
2. Identification of different diseases of Sugarcane and other ancillary sugarcrops like sugarbeet, palmyra palm, date palm, golpata etc. and their management
3. Determination of yield losses assesment due to diseases.
4. Production of disease free foundation & certified seed of sugarcane and their distribution to different sugar mills, farmers’ and research divisions of BSRI for conducting/setting up of different experiments.
5. Arranging training on sugarcane disease management to the extension officers, extension workers and suagarcane farmers.
